Annual South Texas Polka Fest this weekend

The 43rd Annual South Texas Polka and Sausage Fest will take place this weekend with all festivities scheduled at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville.

Included in this year’s Fest will be the 6th annual South Texas Hall of Fame induction with Rev. Msgr. John Peters being inducted at ceremonies held Sunday afternoon.

Friday, March 22:

The Fest starts Friday with a dine-in or drive-thru plate-to-go fried fish meal, with all the trimmings, available starting at 5 p.m. Cost is $14 per plate.

The Czechaholics and The Moravians will provide the musical entertainment during the evening from 6 to 11 p.m.

Saturday, March 25:

On Saturday, the Polka Fest will continue with a Polka Mass celebrated at 3 p.m. at the KC Hall.

Following the Mass, the afternoon and evening will feature a dinner meal consisting of sausage, sauerkraut, German-style potatoes, kolaches beginning at 4 p.m.
