The Hallettsville city council gave the okay to the Hallettsville ISD to mark off no a parking zone from the intersection of Ridge and Second streets to the bus barn at its regular monthly meeting Monday evening.

The no parking zone will be on the north side of Second St.

The council discussed the city building at 727 S. Promenade St.

Texas Workforce is moving out of the building.

The Friench Simpson Memorial Library report for March showed 992 visitors, 86 sessions on computers and $88.45 in fines were collected for overdue books. Total revenue was $270.80.

Hallettsville police arrested 16 persons last month.

The Sales Tax & Usage report showed collections of $51,067.43 in March compared to February collections of $68,190.27.

The street department picked up and disposed of a dead opossum, a dead owl, two dead cats, an armadillo and remains of a deer on W. Fairwinds.

The council voted to sell or dispose of five Dell Optiplex computers and a line lazer 3900 stripping machine with a 4.0 Honda engine.

The council also okayed bills totaling $394,287.61.
