A mobile home home located on Highway 90-A East was a complete loss due to fire that occurred late Saturday night.

According to a report from Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department chief Stephen Grahmann, the call of the fire came in around 11:23 p.m. Saturday night at 6194 US Highway 90-A East.

Grahmann said when they arrived they found the home fully engulfed in flames and were told there were occupants inside the home.

However, Grahmann said upon arrival they found that the occupants had evacuated the structure.

“We pulled three lines and started to extinguish the fire but there was a heavy fire load and it took a while to put it out,” Grahmann said.

He said the fire burned the main structure which also had some added rooms in the front of the building.

In addition, a travel trailer located near the home as well as a storage shed were burned as well.

Grahmann said the fire also damaged four vehicles, a lawn mower and a motorcycle that were near the home.

The chief said it took approximately three hours to extinguish the fire with four trucks from Hallettsville as well as the Sweet Home VFD and Shiner VFD each sending a truck to the scene.

Grahmann said persons occupying the mobile home included Stephanie Coleman and three other unidentified occupants.

The four were not injured due to the fire and the Lavaca County EMS assisted with tending to them.

Grahmann said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
