April saw above average temperatures and contributed decent rain to the year’s total.

Thus far the city has received 18.91 inches which gives us a surplus of 9.60 inches.

All total April received 1.36 inches or 2.08 inches below average. The month’s heaviest rain fell on the 10th and totaled 0.67 of an inch. The month saw precip on seven days.

Rainfall records include 12.76 inches in 1905 and no rain in 2012.

Temperatures for the month ranged from 92 degrees on the 29th to a somewhat chilly 47 degrees on the third. Daytime highs averaged 83 degrees (normal is 80), while lows were 65.2 degrees (normal is 58).

All-time temperature records include 99 degrees on April 27, 1925, 29 degrees on April 3, 1987.

Fog was seen on 10 mornings and thunder was heard on two days.
