Dubina picnic set for Sunday July 7
Saints Cyril and Methodius Church of Dubina will celebrate its 168th annual picnic, Sunday, July 7.
The day will begin with a polka Mass at 9 a.m. and will be followed by a lunch consisting of “Dubina Style” fried chicken and sausage along with trimmings for $13 per plate.
Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and adult take home plates will be available through the express to-go line.
The afternoon will be filled with a variety of entertainment and amusements beginning with a country auction at 1:30 p.m.
Bingo will be played from 2 to 6 p.m. and registration for the washer pitching tournament will be held at 3 p.m. The tournament will start at 4 p.m. For information about the tournament contact Mark Prihoda at 979-484-6094.
Free dancing including polka and waltzes will take place during the day with Mark Halata and Texavia as well as the Lost Cause Band providing the music from noon to 7 p.m.
Hamburgers will be served in the evening and antique and classic cars will be on display during the picnic.
The sweepstakes drawing will be held at 7 p.m. and Dubina History books will be for sale in the Country Store.
