Early voting in entity elections begins Monday, April 22

In person early voting begins Monday, April 22 in the Hallettsville ISD and Hallettsville City elections.

Voters wishing to cast their ballot early can vote at the Lavaca County Annex Building located at 412 N. Texana St. in Hallettsville.

Early voting will be held from Monday through Friday, April 22 through 26, and Monday and Tuesday, April 29-30.

Voting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

The general election will be held on Saturday, May 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Voters are reminded to bring a photo ID to vote.

Hallettsville ISD has a three-proposition bond election on the ballot with Proposition A that is addressing district-wide safety and security. The amount of the Proposition A bond is $1.8 million.

Proposition B is focused on Junior High renovations and expansion and is proposed for $9,325 million.

Proposition C is addressing athletic facility upgrades, including and new gymnasium and multipurpose facility as well renovations to the baseball/ softball complex. The proposed cost for Proposition C is $28,245 million.

Voters will have the opportunity to vote for each proposed bond separately.

In addition, the ballot includes three trustee elections with all unopposed. Listed on the ballot is Brian Smith (Place 1), Holly Cliffe (Place 2) and Sharesce Sidney (Place 3).

City of Hallettsville:

The city of Hallettsville will also have an election that also includes a bond proposal.

The proposed bond calls for the issuance of $6 million in general obligation bonds for street and related utility improvements and levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.

Three unopposed candidates for City Council are also listed on the ballot who include Chasity Grant Carter (Place 1), Trent Skelton (Place 3 ) a n d D e a n Madden (Place 4).
