Entity candidate filing ends Friday

The filing deadline for candidates to run for positions on the Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees and the Hallettsville City Council ends Friday, Feb. 17. 

According to the Lavaca Medical Center administrator’s office, the Lavaca Hospital District holds elections every other year and this is a year it will not be having an election.

Early voting for HISD Board of Trustees’ positions and seats on the Hallettsville City Council will take place from April 24 to May 2 with the general election scheduled for Saturday, May 6.

In the City of Hallettsville election council position 2 (Aubrey Barrera), position 5 (Cindy Renken) and mayor (Alice Summers) are up for election. 

According to City Hall, as of Monday, Renken and Summers have filed. 

Anyone interested in filing as a candidate for a council position can file at City Hall during office hours until Friday, Feb. 17. 

City Hall office hours are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m and on Friday, the office will remain open until 5 p.m.   

The Hallettsville Independent School District administrator’s office reports  the terms of Place 6 (Robert Lundy) and Place 7 (Dennis Herring Jr.) are up for election.

As of Monday, Ryan C. Bludau has filed for the Place 6 position.

Candidates interested in filing for a place on the HISD Board of Trustees have until Friday, Feb. 17 at the HISD administrative office at 302 N. Ridge St.

Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be open until 5 p.m. on Friday.
