Members of the Shiner Volunteer Fire Department could use your help.

A very dry summer led to an increase in Shiner’s firefighting calls, and left the department’s coffers looking bleak as it looks ahead to the coming winter months.

To ease those financial concerns, the department has decided to get together for a good old fashioned barbecue fundraiser, to raise both their spirits and their account balance.

They’ll be up bright and early Sunday, Sept. 18, at Arthur Kaspar Pavilion on the back side of Green Dickson Park.

Get the best barbecue chicken in town by the halves, served up with all the trimmings from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for $12 a plate (to go plates only).
