Bernard Joseph Siegel Jr., 75, of Shiner, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. 
He was born January 26, 1949 in Shiner, to the late Bernard Siegel Sr. and Annie Marie (Matias) Siegel.
Most people knew him as “Bernie” and he was one of a kind, known to “do his own thing”. He graduated from St. Paul High School and went onto Baldwin Business College. He was employed by Yoakum National Bank for 23 years. 
He loved history and “telling the story”, so he began his next career, as curator of the Edwin Wolters Memorial Museum in Shiner for the next 27 years. He loved antiques and anything vintage and in his spare time, he enjoyed refinishing furniture. He loved growing up “on the farm” but even more, enjoyed the trips to Galveston with family and friends.
Survivors include his sister, Jeanette Kloesel and husband Edward; brothers, Anthony Siegel and wife Rachel, and Jonathan Siegel and wife Jacqueline; nieces and nephews, Lori Rother (Allen), Kevin Kloesel, Jason Kloesel (Anna), Shadra Pastucha, Clayton Siegel, and Jared Siegel; great nieces and nephews, Brendan, Chloe, Waylon, Jake, Kate and numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 22, with Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m.  at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 23 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael Odartey-Lamptey officiating. 
Burial will follow at Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Kevin Kloesel, Jason Kloesel, Brendan Yoakum, Gus Jaehne, John Navjar and Duff Wagner.
Honorary pallbearers are Allen Rother, Waylon Rother and Jake Kloesel.
Memorials may be given to Shiner Fire Dept/EMS services or Shiner Catholic School.
