Roy Patterson Jr. (RB), 61, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Alvin, Roy found his true home in Shiner, where he built a life rich with family, friends, and a deep appreciation for the simple way of life.
In his younger years, Roy was a fearless bull rider, a thrill-seeker who wasn’t afraid to test his limits. This adventurous spirit never truly left him, but it transformed over time. Later RB’s passions shifted towards the simple pleasures of life – Spending time with loved ones, and sharing laughter over a cold beer, and these moments became the cornerstones of his happiness.
Those who knew RB well will remember his love for dancing, a sight that often brought a smile to everyone’s face, cold beer in hand of course. In June 1987, Roy’s life took a turn for the sweeter when he married his wife, Sandra. Together, they built a beautiful life, filled with love and unwavering support.  In his final years, RB discovered a renewed sense of purpose and peace working as a ranch hand.  He cherished his time working with horses and cattle, finding solace and joy in just being outdoors.
RB was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Roy Patterson Sr.; sister, Linda Dahlstrom; and brother, Raymond Patterson.
He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his wife Sandra (Shiner); daughter Heather and her husband Jeff Tobola (Georgetown); son, Trent Patterson (Shiner); and three grandchildren, Jarrett and Shelby Tobola, and Mckenna Patterson.  He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte and her husband Ricky Guy (Atascocita), Lajune and her husband Mike Coke (Dickinson), and brother Tim and his wife Vera Patterson (Dayton).
RB will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his infectious laugh, his love for the simple things in life, and his unwavering dedication to his family and friends. He may be gone, but the memories he leaves behind will continue to bring laughter and warmth to the hearts of all who knew him.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 26 in Shiner Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life following at 7 p.m.
