8s softball wins opener before being eliminated

Subhead

CUERO – A good start did not equal to a good finish for the Hallettsville 8u All-Stars softball team in the Special Tournament.

Hallettsville defeated Moulton 2-1 in a walk-off win Friday, but lost its next two games.

Neely Grahmann scored on an error in the bottom of the fourth and final inning for the margin of victory. Grahmann had led off the inning with an infield hit. Ada Meinkowsky ensued with a single which advanced Grahmann before the error occurred.

Moulton took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a double and single.

Hallettsville tied the score at 1-all in the bottom of the second inning. Maddelyn Succo was hit by a pitch. Sawyer Wimberly and Blakely Bock singled before Wimberly scored on a wild pitch
