Brahmas 3rd in Area Meet

SEGUIN – The Hallettsville Brahmas finished third in the District 25/26 Area Track Meet at Seguin High School Wednesday, April 19 at Seguin High School.

The Brahmas scored 75 points. Universal City Randolph won the team title with 130 points and Palacios was second with 76 points.

The Brahmas qualified 5 individuals including two relays for the Region IV-3A meet in Seguin Thursday and Friday at Seguin High School.

Damarion Austin won the 200-meter dash in 22.97 seconds.

The 800 relay team made up of De’Keidris Bedford, Rashaun Sidney, Layne Gerke and Austin was second in 1:29.57.

The same foursome made up the second place sprint relay team which was clocked in 42.97 seconds.

Sidney was second in the triple jump (42-2.25 and third in the 200-meter dash (23.41).

Bedford picked up a third in the long jump at 21 feet, 3.4 inches

Josh Griffin was fifth in the tw-mile (11:02.51 and Michael McAfee fifth in the discus (138-04.50.) and fifth in the shot put (44-03-25).

The top four finishers in each event advanced to regional
