CUERO – The Hallettsville All Stars swept the best-of-three series with a 9-0 victory over New Braunfels Monday night.

Myles Kalmus started on the bump and was the winning pitcher. He threw 4.1 innings allowing no hits, walked six and recorded four strikeouts.

Charles Strode went 1.2 innings and allowed two hits.

The locals had a 10-hit attack with Kalmus hitting two doubles with a run batted in. Strode had two hits with 3 RBI. Alex Grahmann doubled and drove in a run. Easton Clark, Konnor Chance, Ty Rother, Tanner Pustka and Owen Jansky all singled. Jansky had two RBI.

H’ville 8, NBN 2

Hallettsville took Game 1 played in Floresville Sunday, 8-2.

Easton Clark was the starting and winning pitcher and worked the first five innings. Clark ceded two runs (none earned) struck out eight and free passed three.

Ty Rother threw the final frame and walked one and did not allow a hit.

Hallettsville put up a big crooked number in the first inning with four runs, added a run in the second and pushed across three runs in the third inning.

New Braunfels National committed two errors and two New Braunfels National pitchers issued nine walks.

Hallettsville had only five hits. Konnor Chance doubled and drove in a run, Ty Rother singled in a run,Charles Strode collected a RBI with a base hit as did Ryan Kalmus.

Hallettsville will play in the Sectional 3 Tournament beginning Monday in Sweeny.
