Major League Boys reach finals

It doesn't get much better than Will Halata's pitching performance against Lockhart in the Major League District 31 East Zone semifinals Monday night.

Halata struck out all 12 batters he faced in a 10-0 Hallattesville's 10-0 five inning victory to move the locals into the finals vs Lockhart or Gonzales Wednesday night.

Halatathrew an economical 74 pitches in the four and two-thirds innings he worked.

Tezmund Gutierrez swung the hot bat with three hits in three at-bats including a triple and run batted in and three runs scored.

Halata also tripled and a RBI and Colt Zavesky was 2-for-2.

Hallettsville had 10 hits in the contest and started the scoring with a RBI single by Tumis in the second inning

The big inning was the third when six runs crossed the plate.

The All-Stars collected 15 hits. Colson Dworsky (three runs, double, triple, three runs), Adam Halata (two doubles, RBI two runs) and Will Halata (double) all had three apiece. Edward Kubenka hit safely twice, Creek Burnes (triple, two runs, RBI), Gunnar Pekar (two runs), Colt Zavesky (three runs) and Ty Henneke (run) produced one hit each.

Dworsky, Henneke and Tumis all pitched.
