Major League boys shut-out Sinton

INGLESIDE – Hallettsville’s 12u Major League again got fine pitching performances from Colsen Dworsky and Tyler Tumis in a 3-0 shutout of Sinton in the Section 4 Tournament Sunday night.

Dworsky and Tumis pitched a combined nohitter and 13 strikeouts.

Dworsky went 4.1 innings and Tumis 1.2 innings.

Hallettsville nixed a scoring opportunity in the first inning after back-to-back two -out singles by Will Halata and Tezmond Gutierrez.

The first run scored in the second inning. Gunner Pekar beat out an infield hit, went to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a single up the middle by Tumis.

Hallettsville held on to the 1-0 lead before scoring two insurance runs in the sixth. Dworsky and Canyon Zavesky w e r e b o t h safe on one-out e r ro rs . A d a m Halata’s bunt was mishandled to score both runners.\

Hallettsville collected six hits with Will Harper going 2-for3. Luke Meinkowsky and Creek Burnes also singled.
