Major League girls whitewash NB

NEW BRAUNFELS – Hallettsville Major League pitching was spot- on in taking a bestof-three series won in two games with New Braunfels American.

Paelyn Etzler and Lynley Kallus combined for a five-hitter in the clinching 2-0 victory Sunday night.

Etzler went four innings and ceded two hits, a walk and struck out eight.

Kallus threw the final two innings and surrendered three hits, a walk and struck out four.

Hallettsville scored its runs in the third and fourth innings.

Kelly Satsky doubled to lead off the third inning and scored on an error.

In the fourth, Kayla Kurtz began the frame by reaching on a dropped fly ball in the outfield before scoring on an infield out by Caitynn Halata.

Hallettsville was outhit 5-3 with three errors leading to NB’s downfall. H’ville 3, NB 0

Paelyn Etzler own ed the circle in the 3-0 win Saturday in Yoakum.

Etzler hurled a twohitter and struck out 10 in a route-going performance. At one point, she retired 12 batters in a row before allowing a fifth inning single.

Kayla Kurtz led off the first inning with a base hit and scored on Kenzie Kurtz’s single.Chloe Grahmann and Kelly Satsky walked at the onset of the fifth inning and both came across when Ashten Louden’s fly ball was misplayed.

The Kurtzs had the lone Hallettsville hits.
