CUERO – The Hallettsville Major League softball Red team ravished Seguin, 18-0, in the opening game of the District 31 East Zone Tournament Saturday evening.

The game was called after two and a half innings because of the run rule.

Lynley Kallus struck out eight and allowed one hit, a triple by Georgia Pape in the second inning.

Hallettsville established its superiority early with four runs in the first inning and 14 in the second inning to end the game prematurely.

Macyn Wimberly hit a two-run single in the first inning scoring Blair Ranly and Heidi Grahmann, both of whom walked.

The All Stars sent 18 batters to the plate during the 14-run second inning.

Highlights in the inning were a two-run single by Brenna Bucek, a RBI double by Kallus, run-scoring single by Reese Sklar and a two-run base hit by Blair Ranly. Numerous runs were scored on errors.
