’Nettes Second At Tapps State Meet

WACO – A misfortune at the area meet in the 4x100 relay cost Sacred Heart a possible secondstraight team state title at the TAPPS 2A State Championship at Midway High School Friday and Saturday at Midway ISD.

Bryan St. Joseph won first with 108 points, the Indianettes scored 103 points and St. Paul was third with 88.

The 4x200 relay composed of Katie Kostelnik, Bailey Haas, Aleigh Kraatz and Elena Grahmann won first with a time of 1:49.53 and the same foursome made up the 4x400 relay that was timed in 4:12.58.

Katherine Pavliska was second in both the shot put (37-5) and discus (122-10.)

Freshman Ella Demel was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 17.62 seconds and Mallory Mueller took second in the high jump with a best of 5 feet

Grahmann was third in the triple jump (35.75) and third in the long jump (16-9).

Kraatz picked up a fourth in the long jump at 14 feet, 4.5 inches.

Jules Janak threw the shot 33 feet, 4 inches for fourth

Another freshman, Rylan Dworsky, was fifth in the triple jump (33-6) and Arianna Henke fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.55 seconds
