St. Paul baseball: Ulcak plays five games for UHV in ‘24

University of Houston-Victoria baseball player and St. Paul graduate Jackson Ulcak got his feet wet in the 2024 season.
He played catcher and played in several games on both defense and offense.
Ulcak’s first game was the second game of a home doubleheader against Dallas Christian College on March 1, a 12-2 win for UHV.  At the plate, he was 0-for-1, one groundout and one plate appearance. In the field, he had one putout on one chance for 1.000 fielding.
Ulcak next saw action in the second game of a doubleheader the next day against Dallas Christian with the Jaguars winning 9-0. 
At the plate he was 1-for-1, his first hit of his career and lone hit of the season, one total base and one plate appearance.In the field, he had two chances and got two putouts for 1.000 fielding.
Ulcak’s next action came March 16 in the second game of an away doubleheader against Southwest, a 20-6 win for UHV. 
He was 0-for-1 at the plate, one flyout and one plate appearance. He had two putouts on two chances and 1.000 fielding.
He played both games of a home doubleheader against Texas College on March 29.
In game one, UHV won 20-5 as Ulcak was 0-for-1 at the plate and one groundout on  one plate appearance. He made a pair of putouts on two chances for 1.000 fielding,
In the second contest, a 24-3 victory for the Jaguars, Ulcak was 0-for-1, one walk and one groundout on two plate appearances.
In the field, he made five putouts on five chances for 1.000 fielding and allowed one stolen base.
In all for his freshman year, Ulcak took part in five total games with UHV going 5-0. At the plate, he was 1-for-5 with one walk, .200 batting average, .333 on-base-percentage,.200 slugging, one total base, two groundouts, two flyouts and a groundout/flyout of 1.00 on six total plate appearances. 
In the field, Ulcak had 12 total chances with 12 putouts and 1.000 fielding.
